Our Alm: a haven of peace on the mountain

Freedom with every breath

Eagles circle in the air, singing out to the world below. The grass gently sways in the wind.

Nature is all around. At 1,900 metres, you can rise it all, sometimes even above the clouds and get a little closer to heaven. A front-row seat – under the sun, under the starry sky, with wonderful panoramic views of the Fundres mountains. At the heart of it all? Our alpine hut, the Pfeiferalm.

Behind the PfeiferalmView into the far distanceThe Pfeiferalm

Grandad Hans and host Robert rebuilt the alpine hut in 2008: in winter it is cut off from the world due to the risk of avalanches, but in summer it becomes a wonderful destination for excursions. From the beginning of May to the end of October, our calves, make themselves at home on the magnificent alpine meadow – how could they not, with this peace and quiet and this view?

You can reach the Pfeiferalm directly from the house within an hour's walk along a good forest road. There are no mountain huts to stop off at along the way, so you should take some provisions with you.

PS.: our alpine hut is not staffed, but all kinds of surprises await you inside. So if one of your hikes takes you to the alpine hut, let us know in advance so that you can enjoy the real alpine feeling. 😉
